“At the moment, the border is relatively stable. As a result of the events we planned, the situation at the border is stable,” said Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan to reporters at the Yerablur military pantheon.
According to him, a contract soldier died at the northeastern border from a targeted shot, but when asked if it’s possible to order an investigation to see if we have issues with security defense, the defense minister said that soldiers protect their own safety and that there is no need for an investigation.
Referring to the police troops who are currently at the border in Tavush, Tonoyan said that they are carrying out their duties well. The minister denied the possibility of that being the reason why Azerbaijan has increased its activities at the border.
