On 19 September, experts from the Energy Community Secretariat and European Network of Transmission System Operators organised a workshop on the key mechanisms of cross-border trade in Ukraine. Representatives of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission and transmission system and market operators Ukrenergo and Energorynok participated in the event.
The main rules of cross-border trading and the principles of practical implementation were discussed. Special emphasis was given to the roles and responsibilities of the main actors (the transmission system operator and the regulator). The main goal was to ensure the conditions for fair and transparent access to cross-border trade for all parties.
The event is part of the EU4Energy initiative’s support for electricity market reform in Ukraine. It is a follow-up to the technical assistance with adopting cross-border allocation of capacity regimes in compliance with the Energy Community acquis.
