21 of the 93 calls received about election violations were about receiving and giving bribes

Before voting began, the police hotline received 93 phone calls regarding election violations. The chief of staff of the police, Meruzhan Hakobyan, stated that 21 out of the 93 calls were regarding receiving and giving bribes and getting in the way of the voters’ free will. 17 of the calls were about the authority carried out by people participating in the elections and the work of the committees, 1 call was about getting in the way of a reporter’s legal work activities, 2 were regarding different violations, 2 were about violations in legal administration, such as removing of posters, and one was about violence against a representative of the government.

 

According to Mr. Hakobyan, 3 of these calls have already warranted a criminal case, 2 have sent information to the investigative committee, 9 are preparing documentation, 53 of the calls are still being checked, 28 of them were unfounded, and 2 of the calls are in the process of being resolved.

 

From 8:00-12:00, 10 calls were received regarding violations of the law. One was about getting in the way of a reporter carrying out their legal work, one was about voting twice or voting in place of another person, 3 were about inaccuracies on the election ballot, and 5 other calls were about accumulations and a car without a license plate being parked by an election center.
