UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres answered Facebook users’ questions. While answering questions, he called the revolution that took place in Armenia a “fantastic example” of regime change.
When asked how he would advise an ordinary citizen to fight the authoritarianism that is going on around the world, Guterres responded, “It is true, we have seen authoritarianism on the rise. It is important that young people come together that democracy, freedom, and human rights are extremely important for all societies. We just recently been witness to a fantastic example of a peaceful transition that was led by the youth- Armenia. There was a peaceful transition of government led by a youth movement. And this is fantastic example to show that there are reasons to hope that the younger generations will be able to do more than my own generation.”
