Nikol Pashinyan’s principle to centralize everything around him: Aram Sargsyan, A1+

September 24,2018 20:37

Head of the “Democratic” political party Aram Sargsyan thinks that people voted in the Yerevan City Council elections to ensure that nothing returns to the way it used to be. According to him, the people did not pay attention to what plans Hayk Marutyan presented. They instead only followed Nikol Pashinyan.

“He used the factor that if we don’t vote for Hayk, then Robert Kocharyan will return. They didn’t vote for ideas, they didn’t vote for plans, they didn’t vote for someone who could do the job, they instead voted against the past. We have to overcome this burden and we can’t allow for a new monopoly. A political force that received 81 percent of the votes can lose their minds in such a way that we’ll end up surprised at what happened to these people,” Aram Sargsyan told reporters.

He said that it’s dangerous that there’s no opposition in Armenia.

“If one political party gathers that many votes, then the idea of an opposition is destroyed. We saw that at the beginning of the 90’s with Levon Ter-Petrossian. His ratings dropped six months later. The prime minister needs to have a broader view. Nikol Pashinyan needs to understand that, without an opposition, the government could turn into a dictatorship,” he said.
