After the Yerevan City Council elections, which had 12 political forces participating, there will be 3 forces on the city council: “My Step” alliance, Prosperous Armenia, and “Luys” alliance.
Out of the 65 city council members, 5 will be from Prosperous Armenia, and 3 will be from “Luys.” The members from the “Luys” alliance have been decided upon. They are: Davit Khazhakyan, Ani Samsonyan, and Ani Khachatryan. They were all previous members of the city council.
As parliamentarian from the “Yelq” alliance Edmon Marukyan told “Azatutyun,” “Luys” mayor candidate Artak Zeynalyan will not be on the city council.
Prosperous Armenia parliamentarian Vahe Enfiajyan, when asked by Aravot.am if Naira Zohrabyan will be on the city council, said that Ms. Zohrabyan will instead continue her work in the parliament. Regarding who the 5 members of parliament will be, Enfiajyan said that they are unable to announce their names at this time, since they have not made a final decision yet. “When we have made a decision, we’ll announce it,” Vahe Enfiajyan said.
We tried to find out what changes there were on the “My Step” alliance list. Will the same members who were candidates on the list be part of the city council?
The spokesperson for the alliance, Vahan Kostanyan, told Aravot.am that the list hasn’t had any changes made to it at the moment, although it is possible that some people from the list will instead do administrative work.
