Russian President Vladimir Putin went to Baku on a working visit, where he met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“I met with you at the beginning of the month in Sochi, and today we met here in Baku. That proves the level of our relations. We are actively collaborating together in political, economic, transport, energy, and humanitarian areas. I see advancements in all directions,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during the meeting.
Aliyev stated that Russia is a very important and valuable ally, friend, and neighbor, whom Azerbaijan has the best level of relations with. He expressed hope that soon, the two countries’ relations will continue to advance.
Putin thanked Aliyev for the invitation and confirmed that the two countries’ relations are going in a positive direction in economic and other sectors. “What caused our collaboration during your visit to Russia is also very important, as well as the documents that we signed together. Now it is important for that stimulus to remain and for those documents to come into effect,” Putin said.
