The percent of tourists that visited Turkey over the past eight months, in comparison to the same time period last year, grew by 22.92 percent, reaching 27,023,134 people.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism posted on their website about the condition of border crossings. In August alone, 5,383,332 tourists visited Turkey. In comparison to August of last year, the number grew by 15.56 percent.
According to the summarized results, the majority of tourists came to Turkey from Russia (910,466). In second place is Germany (654,737 tourists), and in third place is England (363,433 tourists). The next countries on the list are Bulgaria and Georgia.
