On September 25, the delegation headed by the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov accompanied by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Boleslav Pirshtuk visited Brest Castle-memorial Complex and laid flowers to the memory of the Soviet soldier who died for the defense of Brest Fortress.
The delegation of the National Assembly also visited the cross-stone dedicated to the memory of the Armenian soldiers installed in Brest and paid their tribute.
Eduard Sharmazanov particularly noted: “From the first days of the Patriotic war dozens of thousands left for front, defending our common motherland from fascism. More than three hundred thousand soldiers out of six hundred thousand did not return from the front. Most of them died during the liberation of Belarus. Defending Brest and Minsk they were also defending Yerevan and the whole Armenia. Eternal glory to their memory!”
Let us note that one of the leaders of Bagration military action of liberation of Belarus was the Armenian famous commander Marshal Hovhannes Baghramyan.
