Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan went to work on Sunday morning on his bicycle. He said during a live stream that he wants to have his part in encouraging healthy lifestyles through riding his bike to work. He also said that he received the bicycle as a gift on August 17th from an unknown compatriot.
“There are almost no cars on the road on Sunday mornings, which makes it easy to ride a bike. I want to thank the person who gifted me this bike, because it’s a very helpful present,” the prime minister said.
During his entire ride to work, the prime minister had his live stream on through his phone that was tied to his bicycle. He was describing the route and greeting citizens, who greeted him through beeping their car horns.
“The problem is that I have to ride in such a way that my phone doesn’t fall… it wasn’t a bad trip, but it was short. I wish everyone a pleasant day, and I call upon everyone to start living healthily and to stop smoking. I’m someone who smoked for many years, but hasn’t smoked so much as one cigarette since 2004,” the prime minister said.
