Candlelight ceremony in memory of Charles Aznavour

World-famous singer Charles Aznavour died yesterday at the age of 94. The whole world reacted in sadness to this news.

A candlelight ceremony took place in Vanadzor in memory of Aznavour. The residents of Vanadzor took flowers to and lit candles in the backyard of the culture center, which was named after him, to bring peace to his spirit.

“Today, not only the Armenian nation, but the whole world suffered a huge loss. We lost one of the greatest legends of the century. It’s everyone’s duty to somehow remember him and to somehow pay their respects to him. I’m very sad. May God bless Charles Aznavour’s soul,” said one of the organizers of the event, Hrachuhi Loretsyan.

Several local political authorities, police officers, and residents of Vanadzor came to pay their respects. “Aznavour was a great person. We came to pay our respects. We can’t do anything else besides that. Aznavour was everything for the Armenian people. He will always remain an angel for the Armenian people,” said Vanadzor resident Marguerite Grigoryan.
