Sixteen-year-old Turkish citizen, resident of the Kucukdurduran village of Akyaka, Kars, Umut Ali Ozmen, who illegally crossed the Armenian-Turkish border on July 24th, and was arrested and eventually released, gave an interview at the Turkish “Dogan” media outlet.
Ozmen returned to the spot where he had crossed the border during the interview. He said that he crossed the border out of interest, and emphasized that he regretted his action.
“Everything happened due to my own interest. Of course, nothing like this will happen anymore. I regret it. I will never go to the other side again.”
Ozmen was released and sent back to Turkey on September 26th.
