Two more members of the Republican Party faction, Avet Sargsyan and Rafik Grigoryan, signed a petition that was started by other parliamentarians, according to “Azatutyun” radio. The petition is in favor of holding snap parliamentary elections in December that were initiated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The number of parliamentarians who signed the petition rose to 16.
Other members of the Republican Party had also signed the petition; former police chief Alik Sargsyan, businessmen Arayik Grigoryan, Hakob Hakobyan, and Harutyun Karapoghosyan, parliamentarian Tachat Vardapetyan, and representatives of national minority groups Knyaz Hasanov and Arsen Mikhailov. They signed a statement that supports the prime minister’s decision of holding snap parliamentary elections in December. “After Nikol Pashinyan resigns from his position as Prime Minister, no other Prime Minister shall be elected and parliament shall dissolve.”
