There is a popular opinion that the easy agreement was a trap that they tried to pull Nikol Pashinyan into, and then lie to him. People who are spreading this opinion unconditionally support and trust the prime minister, and thus are speaking from that position. But this, of course, is a little strange, because if someone supports and trusts Nikol Pashinyan, then it must at least be strange to announce that they agree with lying to him. Maybe those people think that the head of the Velvet Revolution- which seemed to be so unrealistic and impossible for many- Nikol Pashinyan, is so naive or gullible that he would allow himself to be lied to in such a way. This is perhaps disrespectful towards Nikol Pashinyan himself, and not towards the people who are lying to him.
Regarding the risk that Tsarukyan will hold back after making the agreement- the problem has already been publicized. Society needs to give an answer. Will it allow anyone to try and hold back from a publicly-made agreement? The answer to this question was given on October 2nd. The majority of parliament was forced to find ways to collaborate and come to agreements, understanding that they have been doomed. Of course, the public and the prime minister need to be careful, and there’s no doubt that they are. But, the forces that are seen as potentially violating agreements have more to worry about, because they are in such a situation that if they take one wrong step, it will mean political suicide.
Gagik Tsarukyan tried to save his chance at being second. Did he really bring back the loss that Prosperous Armenia took on October 2nd through showing his support for Nikol Pashinyan and agreeing to holding elections in December? Maybe it doesn’t matter to the leader of Prosperous Armenia, and he is thinking more so about his personal ratings, since Prosperous Armenia’s political era ended a long time ago.
