EU National Institutes of Culture Cluster opens in Armenia

At the beginning of October, the EU Delegation to Armenia opened the “European Union National Institutes of Culture” (EUNIC) Cluster at Byurakan Art Academy.

The opening ceremony, held under the slogan of establishing trust and mutual understanding between Europe and different nationalities through culture, brought together Ambassadors of EU Member States and representatives from local and European cultural and educational institutions.

“The initiative of establishing EUNIC Armenia Cluster is significant; it will be targeted at uniting our efforts,” said Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia. “I mean not only familiarizing the European culture and European identity in Armenia but also by using the cultural relations expand partnership framework and opportunities between our countries.”

The establishment of the EUNIC Cluster in Armenia coincides with the European Year of Cultural Heritage, which is being celebrated in 2018.
