The Francophonie events and plans are taking place in Armenia in an easygoing, warm environment. Sometimes, strange, unpredictable incidents happen, too.
For example, Azatutyun radio’s cameras caught Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as he got lost on Republic Square during the gala-concert. He approached one of the government’s vehicles along with the people who were guiding him. When they saw that the car was occupied, they asked where theirs was. Then, the Canadian prime minister, tried to walk to Vazgen Sargsyan street towards the Paronyan theater, with a smile on his face, of course. There, they told him that he’s going the wrong way. Trudeau and his delegation walked back to the square and found the car waiting for them. This is the first time Trudeau has been to Armenia after its independence. He had come once before as a teenager during the Soviet era with his father.
Nikol Pashinyan posted a video on his Facebook page showing how French President Emmanuel Macron was dancing during the meal that Pashinyan hosted and how he was inviting others to dance with him. The Canadian Prime Minister, Monegasque Prince Albert II, and others started dancing with him. Pashinyan posted selfies on his Facebook with Prince Albert II, Macron and his wife, and Trudeau.
The first ladies visited Yerevan’s museums. Upon leaving the Cafesjian Museum of the Arts, a man approached Brigitte Macron, took her hand, and said that she has a beautiful face. She laughed and thanked him for his honest compliment.
