The “Grand Orient de France” deputy Grand Master Mohamed Ait-Arab, member of the council, director of international and Francophonie issues Dmitri Arsenakis, member of the council, director of European issues Eghve Zakarian, and other members of the organization visited Armenia during the framework of the Francophonie Summit.
The deputy Grand Master, Mohamed Ait-Arab, regarding the 17th annual Francophonie Summit in Armenia, told Aravot.am in an unexpected interview that, “First, we need to get rid of old mentalities and ideas that are associated with Francophonie. Along with keeping the ideals of the founding fathers in 2018, Francophonie also has another task, which President Macron spoke about. Francophonie, for French masons, needs to be like an organization that has a person in the center, except in this case the person is greatness and humanitarian ideals.”
According to Mohamed Ait-Arab, “It’s symbolic that the 17th annual Francophonie Summit took place in Armenia, especially after what happened in April. Francophonie, for “Grand Orient” French masons especially, is a progressive movement. I hope that the summit will promote the advancement of humanitarian ideals, which is one of our key beliefs.”
