Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan does not agree with RPA member Vigen Sargsyan’s observation that the discussions scheduled with the parliamentary factions regarding the Electoral Code have been pushed back. “I can give my subjective and bold judgment that not everyone in the RPA agrees with him, since several parliamentarians have held serious and effective discussions,” Ararat Mirzoyan said after his meeting with the RPA faction. According to him, there have been several suggestions made by several RPA parliamentarians.
Regarding the results of the discussions, Ararat Mirzoyan said, “We made an agreement with the RPA that we will work more intensively now. If everyone wants to have a good Electoral Code and a good voting system before the elections, and if we find that there is still time, then we will intensify our efforts and will make some changes.”
The deputy prime minister also said that they send both the concept and the draft of the bill to the Venice Commission. “The final concept was sent today. We continue to be in contact with the Venice Commission. I hope that we will come to a mutual understanding.”
