What would disappoint Vigen Sargsyan

October 17,2018 17:09

Former Minister of Defense, member of the RPA team involved in changing the Electoral Code Vigen Sargsyan thinks that the current government is in a rush to make changes in the Electoral Code. He thinks that these discussions have been held too late. They were informed during discussions that the plans have been sent to the Venice Commission before they were finalized. “That is disrespectful towards the Venice Commission,” Vigen Sargsyan said.

Vigen Sargsyan thinks that the current government wants to carry out its pre-electoral promises, and then say that the parliament did not accept it and create political hysteria and propaganda. This opinion was strengthened since Ararat Mirzoyan said, “This is a great opportunity to not accept it” several times.

When asked if the RPA will participate in the elections, Vigen Sargsyan said, “A political party that does not fight for its right to have a say in anything is useless. I joined the RPA because I agreed with its position on our national identity, national values, and Artsakh. I think that if the RPA finds that it has nothing left to do after no longer being the ruling force in government, that would be the biggest disappointment for me.”
