The European Union will provide financial and technical aid to Armenia to organize the upcoming snap parliamentary elections in December.
When asked if the work being done between Armenia and the EU in accordance with the CEPA agreement pleases the EU, Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia in the European External Action Service Thomas Mayr-Harting said, “We are currently at the beginning of this process. Dramatic changes took place in Armenia. The country now has new leaders who are moving this process forward. Besides this, Armenia is currently in the middle of the election process. Let’s be realistic; what can we expect from Armenia now? But we are following up on our meetings. It’s important that the Armenian Prime Minister is greatly interested in working with us, and we have several platforms which we work on. We have been actively working since the summer. This collaboration has great potential.”
