Acting Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan accepted Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service Thomas Mayr-Harting and head of the EU mission to Armenia Piotr Switalski on October 18th.
During the meeting, they discussed Armenia-EU collaboration plans regarding security and defense, especially plans for including military personnel in EU educational trainings and the possibility of including military personnel in EU peace missions. They also mentioned the importance of carrying out this process on an international legal level.
The guests asked for the Minister of Defense to present them with the situation at the Line of Contact and at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, mentioning that tensions at the border have somewhat decreased.
