Nikol Pashinyan, during the gathering in Kapan, also spoke about the incident with Shant Harutyunyan. The acting prime minister said that he had given an interview, made a statement, and even wrote a letter to the Special Investigative Service about the interview.
“I made that announcement based off of what Shant Harutyunyan said. Then, Shant Harutyunyan refused to given an explanation, and people began to blame me for lying. Yes, I was in an uncomfortable situation and I still am in such a state, because Shant Harutyunyan still hasn’t confirmed that I said that based off of what he had said. He has not given a testimony and explanation, but now I have intervened so that law enforcement bodies create the possibility of investigating again. And, I hope that they will find such a possibility and Hunan Poghosyan’s responsibility and debt to the New Armenia will be to explain the truth in its entirety of what really happened.”
Nikol Pashinyan said that, as the Armenian Prime Minister, he asked the governor of Syunik Hunan Poghosyan a question about that incident and he received an answer. However, he will not reveal the answer because he doesn’t think that it’s right to do so. “I can say that I was satisfied with his answer. The rest can be resolved by an investigation.”
