President of the “Russian-Armenians’ Union,” businessman Ara Abrahamyan spoke to reporters at “Novosti-Armenia” about his real estate on Northern Avenue, saying that he was preparing to sell his apartments two months ago, as well as rent out a building meant for a shopping center. However, after an eight-year court process, problems arose again. The court decided that Abrahamyan’s purchase of government properties on Northern Avenue through an auction was unofficiated.
“As a direct violation of the law, the court processes started again. I thought that they had finally finished, but no… do you know how many people are interested in the apartments on Northern Avenue and the shopping center? But I can’t sell them. The apartments are ready, there are people willing to purchase them, and a lot of people are asking me about purchasing the shopping center, but there are legal issues. I don’t want to sell them and cause problems for someone,” Ara Abrahamyan said.
He doesn’t think that rue new Armenian government is interested in the controversy surrounding his real estate. “How much longer can this continue? This country needs stability and rule of law. I have invested over a hundred million drams in this country and now I am in Armenia so that people can be convinced that I am ready to continue.”
