“That information has not been confirmed by any trustworthy source. I can only say that the arms race in the region is a part of Armenia’s agenda,” said Spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anna Naghdalyan in reference to information that Italy sold weapons to Azerbaijan.
“We call upon the international community to stay away from activities that promote an arms race or instability in the region,” she said.
Regarding information that Azerbaijan bought helicopters from the United States, a country that is a part of the OSCE Minsk group, Anna Naghdalyan said, “We were told that those are helicopters to be used for civilian activities, such as in emergency situations. They are not allowed to be used for military purposes. That also applies to the USA obtaining those helicopters.”
