Acting Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan presented his military booklet in an interview with reporters as evidence for his having served in the army. “I was called to serve on December 25, 2015, 19 916 military base, Defense Army head staff, Stepanakert, and I served until October 27, 2016. I was released due to health issues. Doctors are required to serve until 35 years old. I did my residency clinics and doctorate, and was free from serving for 5 years due to health problems. Then the rules changed, I was called to serve, and during the April War I served for 24 hours for 3 months at the military base. On April 2nd and 3rd, I was on guard at the military base in Stepanakert. Then there was a flare up of the illness. I was given a check up again and released. I have the Familial Mediterranean fever, which can sometimes cause people to have their kidneys removed,” the acting minister said.
Torosyan also presented the medication that he takes every day in order to avoid having serious problems with his kidneys.
