“If Robert Kocharyan had that sort of video, it would have been used during the investigations of 2008-2009 and it especially would have been presented as a piece of evidence during our criminal investigations,” said member of the group gathering information on March 1st, lawyer Seda Safaryan, regarding second President Robert Kocharyan’s statement that he saw a video on the internet of how protestors used machine guns.
“I fully believe that Robert Kocharyan’s statement is not true. As far as the schemes he is talking about: the schemes took place during his own time in office. I don’t see any schemes going on now. I see that there is political will in providing legal evaluations, which is being affected by judges he appointed. Robert Kocharyan can, therefore, say such things because now, when he is free, he is able to have some kind of influence, and he can push forward such perspectives. I think that Robert Kocharyan’s actions correspond to the crimes he is accused of. Robert Kocharyan is not the victim of any scheme. When he thought that he was invincible, he did the kinds of things that were against humanity, the nation, and the people. He is now being held responsible for his crimes,” the lawyer said.
