Sweden offered to supply the Ministry of Defense of Armenia with the SAAB JAS-39 Gripen fighter jets. The REGNUM website wrote about this, citing the Ministry of Defense as its source. This took place almost immediately after John Bolton’s visit to Armenia.
According to the news source, Armenia was offered to purchase a batch of eight jets. One of the jets is worth approximately 55-60 million euros, and it is possible to obtain the jets through a lease agreement.
The fourth generation of JAS-39 Gripen jets has a light motion sensor. It has a combat radius of approximately 800 km and can carry ‘air-to-surface’ missiles as well as ‘air-to-air’ missiles in case of a battle against enemy aircraft.
These fighter jets are particularly cheap in comparison to other Western weapons.
