During the World Weightlifting Championships in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, member of the women’s Armenian national team, 59 kg Isabella Yaylyan competed. The athlete lifted 95 kg during the snatch exercise, and 115 kg during the clean and jerk for a total of 210 kg. She won 9th place.
Isabella could have done better. She initially lifted a 90 kg bar during the first approach of the snatch exercise, but she lost some of her balance and, as a result of carrying such a heavy weight, she crossed the line. That is why the referees did not count the weight. Isabella was forced to then lift the same weight a second time, losing an important approach.
