“I don’t think that it’s necessary to make assumptions regarding any announcement or statement because politics, whether it be internal or external, and especially regional politics, is a dynamic process,” President Armen Sarkissian told reporters at YSU. Reporters from Aravot asked the President what conclusions can be made about National Security Advisor of the US John Bolton’s undiplomatic statements in Armenia, and what will take place in the region if America sanctions Iran. They also asked how Armenian-Iranian relations will advance after that. The President noted that America-Europe, America-Russia is even bigger in the region.
“I did not personally meet Bolton because I was not in Armenia at the time. I was in the USA. But I think and I advise that we not make such quick assumptions because the processes are quick and changeable. We need to wait and see what America’s policy will be in the region.”
