An Armenian weightlifter gave a great present to Head Secretary of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation and head coach of the team, Pashik Alaverdyan, whose birthday was recently.

Simon Martirosyan, 109 kg, competed at the World Weightlifting Championships in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, and claimed the title of World Champion. During the snatch exercise, Martirosyan lifted 190 kg during the first approach, 195 kg during the second, and 197 during the third approach, but the referees did not count the third approach and the athlete won a silver medal.

Simon gave them his response during the pull exercise, showing them that he’s the strongest. During his first approach, he lifted 230 kg. He not only won a gold medal for this exercise but became the world champion. But he was not satisfied with that. In his second approach, he lifted 240 kg, held it above his head confidently, and at 435 kg altogether, he beat the world record. A third approach was unnecessary.
