President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, pre-electoral department head of the RPA Armen Ashotyan told reporters that they know there will be difficulties as they have faced difficulties over the past six months. “State-endorsed activities and discussions against potential RPA candidates continue. They are told, “Is this necessary? Why are you doing this? Think about your children!” There are many such instances of this occurring. The state is targeting possible candidates of the RPA through trying to convince them and through making threats. We have some evidence of this happening. There are people speaking about this and there are people who have rejected our offers due to this.”
Ashotyan said that when their proportional list is made public, we will see many young faces that are the result of upgrades in the political party. “You will also people who have many years of experience in the party who are also dedicated to the RPA. You will also see people who enjoy the trust of their voting districts. You will see people whom you never expected to see on our lists.” He said that we will not see people, however, who should have been on the RPA proportional lists, according to political analysts.
Ashotyan reconfirmed their announcement that they are not preparing to be the ruling force. It is obvious that Civil Contract will be the ruling party and that Nikol Pashinyan will be Prime Minister.
