RPA member Armen Ashotyan spoke to reporters about David Shahnazaryan being included on the RPA proportional list. He said that the RPA has always included people who were not members, and people were once surprised that they had included individuals such as Hrayr Tovmasyan, Nerses Eritsyan, and Davit Sargsyan. “The RPA is a platform that gives people who share the same threats opportunities.”
Regarding the fact that David Shahnazaryan, who was once a member of the ANC, accused the RPA of what happened on March 1st, Ashotyan said, “The March 1st page for political harmony opened a long time ago for us. Please remember when Alexander Arzumanyan became an ambassador, when political negotiations took place between the two sides after March 1st in 2010 and 2011, and when Levon Ter-Petrossian supported the working authorities during the Sasna Tsrer incident and the April War. The effects of March 1st went away a long time ago because they did not have an effect on Levon Ter-Petrossian’s announcements after the April War and during the Sasna Tsrer incident, Alexander Arzumanyan’s appointment as ambassador, and many other events. This allowed for political developments to take place. I think that this is the truth beyond all question.”
Ashotyan also scoffed at how Nikol Pashinyan claims that the case has been completely disclosed. “If it has been disclosed, then send the case to court. Look to see if Nikol has truly disclosed everything or not and then accuse us. Ask Nikol Pashinyan why the case continues until now and how that can mean that everything has been disclosed. By the way, where is it written that our forces have to report to him? How did he know that the case has been disclosed? Why should they disclose how much money is in bank accounts, what is threatening whom, and who is being accused of corruption? What is going on here? If Serzh Sargsyan said something like that back then, what would you have said?”
