An agreement between Artsakh and Armenia about a military-political alliance is necessary. Artsakh Security Council Secretary Vitaly Balasanyan spoke to Aravot about this in an interview.
“We need to have that document which will state that Armenia is the guarantor of the security of the people of Artsakh. The phrase “guarantor of the people’s security” is important here and not “guarantor of territorial integrity,” since we still have land under Azerbaijan’s control,” Balasanyan said.
He said that he made such an offer to the Armenian authorities, and the offer was accepted.
According to Balasanyan, orders have been made and actions have been taken. The paperwork is ready. “However, it has been postponed a bit due to the latest political developments in Armenia. However, I am convinced that after the snap parliamentary elections, we will have those documents,” the Secretary said.
