Famous Armenian Mountaineer and Runner Ara Khatchadourian visited Mesrobian on November 13 and got acquainted with the activities and different departments of the School.
On this occasion, Mr. Khatchadourian met with the students of Mesrobian College and spoke about his experiences and achievements as a mountaineer. Responding to the queries of the students, he explained the reasons behind his unique sports interests, his aims as a mountaineer and runner, and the obstacles he faced and overcame during this path.
Mesrobian Principal Gregoire Kaloust expressed his joy and pride for welcoming in Mesrobian High School a man who can serve as an example of diligence, will, purposefulness and patriotism for the students. Mr. Kaloust handed a special panel to the guest on behalf of the School, with the following inscription: ‘’To The Unwearied Devoted to the Armenian Cause Mountaineer Ara Khatchadourian, Wishing the Fulfillment of His Dream to Reach the Moon.’’
Ara Khatchadourian, who has conquered the world’s highest peaks, including Everest and Ararat, has indeed the dream of reaching the moon and setting the Armenian flag on it. This summer he ran 4450 kilometers from Marseille to Yerevan during 107 days, to convey a message of world peace.
