Head of the Bright Armenia political party Edmon Marukyan told reporters in parliament that several political forces, including the RPA, consider the future opposition to be something they can pocket. “According to the RPA, it can only be a true opposition, but there is such thing as politics. The opposition is the future authority. Armenian citizens do not see the RPA as the future authorities, however,” he said.
According to Edmon Marukyan, we just got rid of the RPA. “Therefore, how can Armenian citizens want for the RPA to be the future authority? I won’t even describe what took place during the RPA’s years in power. Such a political team cannot be the future authority.”
Then, Marukyan raised a question for the RPA regarding their being the opposition force. “Who needs an opposition- Nikol Pashinyan? He is the head of government in crisis. People support such a government, they don’t go against it. We supported the government through giving it a minister and through preventing sabotage in parliament.”
When asked why he is campaigning against the RPA, Edmon Marukyan responded, “I am not doing such a thing. We will refer to the RPA as infrequently as possible during the campaigns. We will present our plans. The problem is that, when Serzh Sargsyan was in parliament as the candidate for Prime Minister, I said what I needed to while looking him in the eye. But some people who were silent at the time have started talking.”
The snap parliamentary elections will take place on December 9th.
