November 20,2018 20:37

Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Mikayel Melkumyan requested that people stop tying his political party’s leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s personal relationship with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko with the relationships between member states of the CSTO. Reporters asked Melkumyan whether Gagik Tsarukyan is preparing to intervene in Alexander Lukashenko’s and Nikol Pashinyan’s debate regarding disagreements over the position of CSTO Secretary General in favor of helping Armenia come up with a solution. Mikayel Melkumyan said that he hopes that discussions surrounding the CSTO Secretary General position will result in a logical solution during the upcoming session on December 6th.

After the meeting between Alexander Lukashenko, Nikol Pashinyan, and Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was informed of the details of the meeting. Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made a statement that he will demand a response from Alexander Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbayev. After this, a representative from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a firm statement about how Nikol Pashinyan made himself the international Prosecutor General after the revolution in Armenia.

Reporters also asked Mikayel Melkumyan about inner political events and the upcoming campaigns. The Vice Speaker said that Gagik Tsarukyan will be participating in the parliamentary election campaigns and meetings will not only take place in halls, but also will be public. “That does not threaten us, don’t worry,” Mikayel Melkumyan said, answering the question of if they will be able to fill arenas like before.
