Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page,
“I signed all the necessary documents in order to grant Jirair Sefilian Armenian citizenship.
The decisions will de jure go into effect after the President of Armenia signs a decree.
P.S. In accordance with Armenian legislation, there is no way to make a citizenship decree be in effect for years beforehand. Therefore, his citizenship will go into effect this year.”
