Acting Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan was asked during a press conference about how many investments were made over the past several months and whether the revolution promoted an increase in investments. Khachatryan said that the revolution cannot negatively impact economic growth and the number of investments being made. “The revolution brought a higher level of economic freedom and equal competition. This is what a positive environment needs to uphold. This will have its impact on a long-term scale. The impact of the revolution needs to be looked at from a long-term perspective, not short-term.”
He assured that there will be high indicators in the future. Khachatryan advised that it is necessary to wait.
The minister said that small and medium-sized businesses are at the center of his attention. “The Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center provides economic help for participants. The support the SMEDNC provides first intends to raise the possibility of receiving financial help because these businesses are vulnerable. It also intends to decrease risks for smaller businesses that come from being less informed.”
