November 27,2018 19:02

On 24 November, Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from Armenia met with young people from the town of Armavir, Armenia. They shared information on the YEAs initiative and the opportunities it provides and reflected on EU projects and activities under the umbrella of the EU4Youth programme.

The young participants from Armavir also learned about the EU, its history and institutions and EU-Armenia relations. The YEAs also represented Erasmus+ opportunities, as well as platforms and tools through which young people could find more information on such opportunities.

During the visit, the YEAs also followed up on the activities implemented in June 2018 in Lukashin village of Armavir region to mark the occasion of World Environment Day.

The ‘Young European Ambassadors’ initiative aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the EU and its Eastern Partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

The YEAs are part of the Young European Neighbours network, an online platform that facilitates the mutual exchange of ideas and information on the EU, as well as the engagement of young people in informative activities. It is focused on people-to-people contacts and dialogue-driven activities that contribute to greater awareness and improved perception of the EU and the enhanced assessment of its relations with the Eastern Neighbourhood.
