Decision accepted: Yerevan city budget to be audited, but not Yerevan Foundation

November 27,2018 20:34

A plan to introduce auditing services was included in the Yerevan City Council session agenda.

Deputy Mayor Hayk Sargsyan, while this issue was being discussed, said that the city council must confirm the previous year’s financial and economic activities using external auditing options. The purpose of this plan is to study the protection of the city budget.

The organization that will carry out this external auditing will be decided upon through a competition.

One of the members of the city council asked whether this audit truly aims to research all structures and foundations controlled by the Yerevan municipality, including the Yerevan Foundation. The deputy mayor said, “All activities and financial-economic results of the Yerevan municipality system will be included in this audit, including non-produce organizations in the city and closed stock organizations. However, the activities of the audit will not decrease the level of activity within these structures. The audits will simply be overall financial-economic studies.”

The decision was accepted. The city council voted in favor of the plan.
