Ara Babloyan Meets with Deputy of Iran Majlis Masume Aghapur Ali Shahi

On November 27, the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan met with the deputy of the IRI Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) Masume Aghapur Ali Shahi, who was in Yerevan to take part in the works of the 52nd Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).

Highly assessing the Armenian-Iranian good neighbourly relations, the RA NA Speaker highlighted the inter-parliamentary cooperation in their further deepening and strengthening, particularly the active work of the Friendship Groups. The Head of the Parliament has evaluated the IRI authorities and the people’s kind attitude that the representatives of the Iranian Armenian community. According to the Head of the parliament, being full citizens of Iran, they contribute to the development of the country with their activities in different spheres.

Touching upon the regional problems, Ara Babloyan has emphasized the joint efforts in the provision of stability and peace, where great role is also reserved to the parliamentary structures.

Thanking for the meeting, Masume Aghapur Ali Shahi conveyed the welcoming words of the Speaker of the IRI Majlis Ali Larijani to Ara Babloyan. She has noted that the Iranian side highly assesses the relations with Armenia.

The MP highlighted the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, expressing hope that the created traditions would also be continuous in the future. Masume Aghapur Ali Shahi has also assessed the contribution that the Armenian community has had and has in the inner life of Iran, stressing their role in strengthening of bilateral ties.

The sides attached importance to the inter-parliamentary cooperation in different formats, the mutual visits and meetings.
