Pashinyan: ‘CSTO Secretary General controversy small, non-essential issue’

November 30,2018 13:39

“I have said this before and I will say it again. The controversy surrounding the CSTO Secretary General is a small, even non-essential issue,” Acting Prime Minister and head of the My Step alliance Nikol Pashinyan said during a rally. The issue surrounding the CSTO Secretary General will be discussed a second time on December 6th.

Pashinyan said, “The issues that are being discussed within this context are much more important. Our relations with any other nation have not deteriorated, but we have taken note of the situation taking place in Armenia. We have inherited a bad situation, not only in that organization.”

According to Pashinyan, they, unlike the previous authorities, are not going to be inattentive towards Armenian internal security issues. Experts and politicians blame Pashinyan for making the issue of the CSTO Secretary General less important. “It’s important that we clarify our duties for our colleagues in the CSTO,” Nikol Pashinyan concluded.
