Prosperous Armenia candidates do not find Gallup poll’s 5.7 percent votes for them to be credible

December 07,2018 15:34

Deputy candidates from Prosperous Armenia Mikayel Melkumyan and Gevorg Petrosyan spoke to reporters about the results of a survey conducted by the GALLUP International Association regarding the parties Armenian would vote for. The candidates did not find those results to be credible. According to the results of this survey, Prosperous Armenia will receive 5.7 percent of the votes, My Step will receive 69.4 percent, Bright Armenia 3.8 percent, Sasna Tsrer 1.4, RPA 1.3, ARF 1.2, Menk (Us) 0.8, Rule of Law 0.4, Citizen’s Decision 0.3, National Progress 0.1, and the Christian-Democrats will not receive any.

According to Gevorg Petrosyan, the campaigns were very coquettish, not taking into consideration the many instances of people tearing down candidates’ posters. “Young people likely did that, since they were taught by their political customers about vandalism and destructive psychology, which they also demonstrate in other parts of their lives.”

Regarding the television debate between the leaders of the political parties, Mikayel Melkumyan said that it was very planned and ideological. “It is unacceptable to throw dirt at one another, to have four or five people talking at once, and to beat your chests. People don’t understand that that only defeats the purpose of their revolution. Regardless of your party’s interests, the state’s interests need to be the basis for everything.”
