‘We have not placed hopes on administrative levers, to be honest’: Vigen Sargsyan

December 09,2018 13:41

Head of the RPA list Vigen Sargsyan voted at the 9/47 voting station.

He told reporters that unity is necessary during critical moments in our nation. “Regardless of what positions people take, the last thing that they should do is sit home today. It is necessary to go and to vote. Make a decision and vote for the force that is best for our country’s future. I expect that we will have a united society by the end of today.”

He said that having internal enemies in a besieged fortress is the worst thing that can happen. “After voting is finished, I expect that we will have a country where we will lean on knowledge, experience, and consistency at least regarding issues in security, defense, and foreign policy that have personal meaning. I also expect that we will not take steps that will weaken our position in the region.”

When asked if he is worried since the RPA is not going to vote with administrative levers, Sargsyan responded, “We have not placed our hopes on administrative levers, honestly. We hope that we were able to reach society with our worries and our approaches. We also hope that society will trust us today and will give its voice to this important balanced mission.”

Vigen Sargsyan said that they have already noted pressure towards RPA candidates and trusted persons during the campaigns.

He also said that if they have a basis for issuing a complaint after the elections, they will definitely issue a complaint about the results.
