Pashinyan’s response to Kocharyan: ‘No one accused me of spilling blood even in previous administration’

December 09,2018 15:49

Acting Prime Minister of Armenia and head of the My Step alliance Nikol Pashinyan spoke to reporters about the March 1st case and second President Robert Kocharyan’s announcement that Nikol Pashinyan is to blame for March 1st and he is persecuting Kocharyan to “clean up his blood.” “No one accused me of spilling blood even during the sentencing carried out by the previous administration. The European Court of Human Rights has resolutions about March 1st that prove that the former authorities’ hypothesis is bogus. The real picture has been disclosed,” Nikol Pashinyan said.

He emphasized, “Ten Armenian citizens were killed during the events of March 1st, the army was illegally involved in internal affairs, evidence was falsified…”

Regarding Kocharyan’s claims that he was not aware of the 0038 order, a reporter asked Pashinyan how Kocharyan could possibly not have been aware, given that he was President. “You can answer that for yourselves,” Nikol Pashinyan replied.

Then he assured that he never gave a testimony to the court system, including regarding Kocharyan’s legal case. “The parts of my and Vanetsyan’s conversation that prove this were edited. The Armenian judicial system has never been freer than it is today.”

Pashinyan also assured that the decision to detain Kocharyan has nothing to do with the election process. The accusation was made several months ago and investigations continue.
