Pashinyan regarding why no criminal case filed against Serzh Sargsyan

December 09,2018 20:38

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke to reporters about the head of the RPA list Vigen Sargsyan’s announcement that My Step made use of administrative resources during the campaigns. “If such evidence is found, those who did such a thing will be punished,” Pashinyan said.

Regarding deputy candidate from Prosperous Armenia Naira Zohrabyan’s claims that governors demanded that community leaders and mayors ensure votes for My Step, Pashinyan said, “If there are specifics, and if anything illegal is found in those specificities… Our governors carried out campaigns in accordance with the law. Most of them are candidates and were on vacation. Therefore, it would not have been logical for them to not have worked in favor of their party during the campaigns.”

Pashinyan continued, “During the campaigns, I said that no one can tell Armenian citizens whom they should vote for. I think that says everything.”

Pashinyan also responded to questions about why no criminal case has been opened against Serzh Sargsyan yet. “That is yet more proof that investigative bodies don’t work based on my announcements, but instead based on data they have.”
