“From a legal perspective, this decision was exceptional in that unprecedented violations took place. It was obvious that this decision was a result of pressure. The pressure was what you heard on television and on the Internet,” second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan’s lawyer, Hayk Alumyan, told reporters.
According to a decision made by the Court of Appeals, Robert Kocharyan will be detained again.
His other lawyer, Ruben Sahakyan, said that they have appealed to the European Court. Sahakyan also assured that Robert Kocharyan has never avoided investigations, nor will he. “The court’s decision was definitely a political one,” Sahakyan said.
