Political analyst Narek Minasyan thinks that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s congratulatory wishes to Nikol Pashinyan on winning the parliamentary elections is only a matter of time. “We cannot exclude the possibility of Putin congratulating Nikol Pashinyan when the final results of the elections are publicized in a few days,” he told Aravot after being asked why Putin’s congratulations have been delayed.
Narek Minasyan, in response to Aravot’s comments that Vladimir Putin congratulated Serzh Sargsyan the day after the previous elections, emphasized, “We can make certain judgments, but we need to take note of the fact that every country has its agenda and that is where the time limits for responding to certain things come from.”
He also emphasized that the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, spoke about the results of the Armenian elections and gave her evaluations. “She said that they expect strong collaborations in bilateral and other relations. The spokeswoman’s statement is official, therefore, it is not worth focusing so much on this issue.”
