Human Rights Defender visits detained Robert Kocharyan, who raised questions

Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan visited the detained second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and spoke to him in private. Arman Tatoyan told reporters afterwards that several issues were discussed with the former Armenian President. “As a result of our private conversation, we have prepared appropriate writings and questions surrounding the issues that he spoke about.”

Arman Tatoyan did not disclose what issues Kocharyan spoke about because the details of their discussion must be kept confidential.

The HRD also said that his office is in constant contact with Kocharyan’s lawyers. “I carry out my duties regardless of what the person is accused of,” Armen Tatoyan emphasized.

The second President of Armenia is accused of violating the Armenian constitution during the famous March 1st case.
