Aravot asked Artsakh National Renaissance deputy Hayk Khanumyan how he would comment on Levon Mnatsakanyan being moved to another position, especially considering the fact that such rumors have been denied. “I do not see anything extraordinary in Levon Mnatsakanyan changing his position. The commander of the Defense Army is a military position and he must show political apathy. The Defense Army Chief of Staff typically replaced the Defense Army commander. A special process needs to take place for this.”
Regarding other officials, Khanumyan said, “I don’t know whether Bako Sahakyan’s advisors will be removed or not. People are specifically referring to Arshavir Gharamyan and Vitaly Balasanyan, but that definitely has nothing to do with the Artsakh resolution process.”
“I only know what has officially been released,” Hayk Khanumyan said regarding Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan’s and Bako Sahakyan’s meeting.
Aravot asked him what new surprises he will witness in the future. Khanumyan said, “I think that there will be more changes in the government. 2019 will be an active year for Artsakh, and political parties will prepare for the parliamentary and presidential elections in 2020.”
